New Arrivals #184
26 March 2004

Beloved Customers and Friends:

Woah, a big ol' list this time! (good grief how'd we do it?). So we'll keep the introduction short.

So much good stuff we have two Records Of The Week (Iron & Wine! Fennesz!) and a bunch of highlights (Sufjan Stevens! Blonde Redhead! Von Bondies! Scharpling & Wurster! Boyjazz! Richard Youngs! CocoRosie! Buried At Sea! El-P!) and plenty of runners-up, among them the long-awaited reissue of the Olivia Tremor Control's Black Foliage album, a fab disc of guitar wranglin' from the Phillipines, gobs of messed-up black metal (including new ones from Graveland and Nargaroth), two new 12"s from Dielectric, another dreamy Blithe Sons field trip, six songs and crickets from Georgia's heaviest: Jucifer, and Bonnie Prince Billy singing Palace Music! We'll stop there, but there's *lots* of other great things on the list besides, you'll see for yourself.

Dep't of Arrgh: you know that Euphoria album that we made Record of the Week just two weeks ago on our last list? Well maybe some of you are wondering why the hell we don't have any copies of it in the store. As it turns out, right after we reviewed it, and sold out, and ordered a bunch more -- the darn disc went out of print! Arrgh indeed. We're told that it's being repressed, so sooner or later we should have more. But when, we don't know. Sorry!! It's worth waiting for, though... This (or something like it, e.g. Meads of Asphodel) happens now and then, more often than we'd like. But we're trying to improve on this front, as much as its in our power... thanks for being so understanding though!

In other news, Andee's still hard at work training to run/swim/bike his big triathalon on May 1st. You should see him leaving work every night in his Adidas work-out suit. In fact, he's got a whole freakin' weekend of triathalon training starting today, which is why we're sending this list out amazingly early. There's still time to donate. You can do it here: ANDEE'S TRIATHLON
And be sure and check the end of the list for an Andee Training Update!!

Also for those of you planning to check out I Am Spoonbender and Hammers Of Misfortune show, check the end of the list for show news (IAS is NOT playing, but Hammers still are).

So, onward!!!
